Meeting with the award-winning book illustrator, ANTON LOMAEV.
Visit the website of this internationally acclaimed artist who illustrated «Moby-Dick, or The Whale» by Herman Melville, Arthur Conan Doyle's «The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes», «The Odessa Tales» by Isaak Babel as well as numerous fairy tales by E. T. A. Hoffmann and H. C. Andersen.
Russian children’s books illustrations have a fabulous history and there is a wonderful contemporary scene to explore. Read this piece in The Guardian, which also discusses Anton Lomaev's art.

The performance starts at 7 pm, but we will have a private tour of the theater and its museum before the show, so we will meet at 5:30 pm at the entrance.
Год 100-летия Октябрьской революции Большой драматический театр открывает революционной постановкой, спектаклем «Губернатор» по одноименному рассказу Леонида Андреева.
Рассказ «Губернатор» — отклик писателя-символиста на убийство эсером Каляевым московского генерал-губернатора, великого князя Сергея Александровича. По объему смыслов, сгущенности повествования это не рассказ даже, а экзистенциальный микророман. Главный герой, градоначальник, отдавший приказ о расстреле толпы бастующих рабочих, переосмысляет произошедшее и предчувствует собственную смерть.

Today we expect to return to the BDT theater for an exciting opportunity to meet some of the actors and even a creator of The Governor, the celebrated director Andrey Moguchy. Moguchy has won Seven Golden Mask awards as Best Director, and for the Best Production, as well as The Europe Prize New Theatrical Realities sponsored by European Commission (read his biography on Wikipedia).
After you have a night to reflect upon your theatrical experience, we are back to ask questions and take a peek behind the scenes - literally!

Балет «Ярославна» Борис Тищенко написал в 1974 году для ленинградского Малого оперного театра. Спектакль в постановке режиссера Юрия Любимова стал одним из самых громких балетных событий 1970-х, новаторским шедевром, признанным гостями престижного Авиньонского фестиваля. В корне отличный от знакомого по опере «Князь Игорь» взгляд на описанные в «Слове о полку Игореве» события, зрелищные режиссерские находки и пронзительная музыка Тищенко гипнотизировали зрителей на протяжении четырнадцати лет жизни того спектакля. Вернуть на сцену сочинение Тищенко в новом хореографическом решении предстоит Владимиру Варнаве, одному из самых востребованных и плодовитых российских хореографов.

The modern Restoration and Storage Centre of the State Hermitage Museum is situated in the Staraya Derevnya area.
